PatentLab ("we", "us", "our") is a product of Oceanext Solution Pvt Ltd, Kolkata, India. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
1. Data We Collect
- Account information: Name, email address, and role (inventor, attorney, business) collected when you sign up via Clerk.
- Search & usage data: Patent search queries, filters applied, pages visited, and feature interactions.
- Uploaded documents: Patent drafts or files you upload are stored securely on Supabase.
- Payment data: Transaction records processed through Razorpay (we do not store card details).
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and log data collected automatically.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide, operate, and improve the PatentLab platform and its AI features.
- To personalise your experience and remember your preferences.
- To process payments and manage your subscription or credits.
- To send transactional emails (receipts, alerts, updates).
- To conduct aggregated analytics and improve AI model quality.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
3. Sharing of Data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Service providers: Clerk (auth), Supabase (storage), Razorpay (payments), Google Analytics (analytics, if enabled) — bound by their own privacy policies.
- AI providers: Queries may be processed by Google Gemini, Grok, or Anthropic APIs to generate responses. No personally identifiable information is intentionally sent.
- Legal requirements: When required by Indian law or a valid court order.
4. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted storage (Supabase/PostgreSQL), HTTPS in transit, role-based access controls, and periodic security reviews. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep your credentials safe.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@patentlab.in. We will respond within 30 days. You may also delete your account directly from your profile settings.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain session state, and optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand usage patterns. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent notice on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
